Have you ever looked at the night sky and felt really tiny? It's amazing how huge the universe is, and God made it all! But here's the cool part: this super big God also knows you. He knows every single person on Earth. He even knows how many hairs are on your head! He knows what you'll say before you say it. He's everywhere, and He cares about the smallest things in your life. It's a mystery, but it's also a very comforting truth.

A long time ago, a king named David wrote a song in the Bible called Psalm 139. In it, he writes that he was amazed at how much God knew about him personally and cared about every detail of his life. David even asked God to look deep inside his heart to make sure there wasn't anything bad hiding that would keep him from God.

David wasn't perfect, but he wanted to be close to God. He prayed, "Search me, God! Know my thoughts and what I do!"

Just like in David's time, there's bad stuff in the world today. And our own mistakes, or sins, can make us feel far from God. I used to worry about what would happen if I forgot to ask for forgiveness for my sins, even a small sin. But that all changed when I learned that a sin is when we willfully choose to do something wrong, knowing it's against God's will.

The Bible says, "everyone has sinned." So, like David, we should ask, "What sins am I trying to hide from God that I need to confess?"

Good news! The Bible says if we tell God our sins and choose to turn away from those sins, He will forgive us and make us clean. He takes our sins away from us, "as far as the east is from the west." That's an infinitely long way!

It might be tough, but we need to invite God to look deep inside us. He wants to show us any sins we're hiding or anything we're putting before Him. When we confess those things, we can be forgiven!

God knows everyone of us completely. He knew us when we were being formed in our mother’s womb. He sees everything we do and knows our every thought. There's nowhere we can go where God isn't with us. He wants to have a close relationship with each of us.

So, like King David, we can pray to God:  "Search me, God! Look at my heart! Test me! Know all my thoughts, Lord! See if there is anything in me that is separating me from You! Give me the strength to confess and change, then lead me on the eternal path!"

Take some time right now to talk to God. He's waiting to connect with you.

PRAYER:  God, I want You to search my heart.  Reveal to me anything I've been trying to hide from You.  Amen

REFLECTION:  What's one small step you can take this week to let God search your heart?
