"But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world." —Acts 1:8 (CEV)
We spend a lot of time at ConnectDinners talking about the things Jesus did two thousand years ago. We talk about the way He healed people, the way He sat at tables with those who felt left out, and the way He broke the rules of "fairness" to show extravagant love. Those stories are the rock we build our lives on.
But did you know that Jesus is still writing stories today?
This Monday night is our very first "My Story Monday." Once a month, we are going to set aside our typical look at the Gospels to listen to the "Gospel" living inside one of our friends. This week, we get to hear from Laurie.
I don’t believe Laurie’s story is just about her. I believe it’s a window into how Jesus works in our real, messy, everyday lives. When someone stands up and says, "This is where I was, and this is how I found hope," something powerful happens in the room. It reminds us that God isn't just a character in an old book; He is a living presence who is with us right now.
If you have ever felt like your own life is too messy or your mistakes are too big, come listen to Laurie. Her story—and your story—is exactly the kind of material Jesus uses to change the world.
Let’s Connect
Come to ConnectDinners this Monday night at 6:00 PM to hear Laurie share her story.
Text Pastor Vic at 509-919-1897 if you have a story of hope you'd like to share in the future.
Reflection & Prayer Think about one moment in your life where you felt a nudge of hope when things were dark. That small moment is a part of your story that someone else might need to hear today.
Dear God, thank you that you are still at work in our lives today. Thank you for the courage Laurie has to share her journey with us. Help me see the ways you are writing a story of hope in my own life. Amen.
