Your King is coming to you! He is humble and rides on a donkey, even on a colt, the offspring of a beast of burden. —Matthew 21:5 (CEV)

We all love a big entrance. We wait for the flashing lights, the loud music, and the powerful leaders who have everything under control. But as we look at the start of Holy Week, Jesus shows us a different way.

He didn't ride into the city with a 10-step plan and a military escort. He chose a borrowed donkey and two disciples who only had a four-word "secret code."

Sometimes, I feel like I'm doing the hard work of building a new church without the benefit of a roadmap. I have a clear vision for the future, but I don't always have the manual for how to get there. My "planner" soul wants the map, but Jesus just says, "The Lord needs this step."

This story reminds me that Jesus loves to use people who are willing to move even when they don't have all the data. You don't have to be mighty or have it all figured out for Jesus to choose you. You just have to be willing to untie the donkey when He asks.

Reflection & Prayer Think of one step you need to take this week that feels "map-less." How can you trust Jesus in the middle of that uncertainty?

Dear Lord, thank You for being a King who uses our small steps. Help me to trust Your vision even when I don't have the manual. Help me to be humble and faithful today. Amen.
