Our Mission & Vision

Our Purpose

Our dinner church is a place of radical hospitality, where shared meals invite all walks of life to connect in authentic fellowship. We exist to faithfully live out God's call to love Him, love our neighbors, and help everyone become more like Jesus, consistently choosing to put faith into action in our community.

Our Mission

Love God. Love our neighbors. Help everyone become more like Jesus.

The religious elite asked Jesus to identify the most important of all the commandments.  He answered, "You must LOVE THE LORD your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  You must LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR as you love yourself.  Everything depends on these two commands." (Matthew 22:36-40) After Jesus' death and resurrection, just before He assended to Heaven, He commanded His followers to "GO and MAKE DISCIPLES of all the nations." (Matthew 28:19)

Our mission is to live out the commands Jesus gave His followers, the commands He gave to us.

Our Vision
  • To connect people with Jesus at the foot of the cross.

  • To help believers connect with the true purpose of their salvation: a life abounding in love, joy, peace, and all the fruits of the Spirit.

  • To foster an environment where believers connect as disciples, learning to disciple others.

  • To walk with believers as they deepen their connection to God through full commitment, including baptism and entire sanctification.

  • To empower believers to connect with and effectively use their spiritual gifts.

  • To equip all of God's children to comfortably connect their faith story with others, leading them to the foot of the cross where they can meet Jesus.

Our Values
Radical Welcome
  • We choose compassion and understanding over criticism, meeting people where they are on their journey.

Connect Deeply
  • We focus on deep connection that flow from God's love, empowering personal growth in Christ and the desire to disciple others.

Make Moments
  • We believe intentionally designed moments can open hearts, deepen understanding, and inspire personal and spiritual transformation.

Our Foundational Beliefs

Connect Church of the Nazarene
  • We believe in one God who is eternal and without limits.  He is the creator and ruler of the universe.  God is one being who is triune, which means that He is revealed to us as the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe the Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) is God's inspired word. It tells us God's will and everything we need to know about how to be saved.

  • We believe that all people are born with a tendency to sin - we call this origional sin.  Original sin is different than sinning.  We define personal sin, or the act of sinning, as deliberately breaking one of the known laws of God.  Only someone who is morally capable of understanding his or her actions is able to commit personal sins.

  • We believe that those who follow Jesus Christ should strive to be completely set apart for God through their faith in Him.  We believe that through God's grace and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, His followers can overcome their sinful nature and become entirely devoted to God - we call this Entire Sanctification.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to completely pay for our sins. Therefore, the only way to be saved is by repenting (turning away from sin) and accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior.

  • We believe that God the Father will return to Earth, establish His kingdom, bring the dead back to life, and judge everyone He has created.

The Church of the Nazarene views communion, also known as the Lord's Supper, as a special meal that reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice. It's a way for believers to connect with God and remember that Jesus gave his body and blood for our forgiveness.

During communion, the Nazarene church uses bread to represent Jesus' body and grape juice to represent his blood. We use grape juice instead of wine to ensure everyone can participate, emphasizing the spiritual meaning and inclusivity of this vital practice.

The Church of the Nazarene supports the right of women to use their God-given spiritual gifts within the church and affirms the historic right of women to be elected and appointed to places of leadership within the Church of the Nazarene, including the offices of both elder and deacon.

In the Church of the Nazarene, our Articles of Faith are our foundational beliefs, and set forth the essential truths which guide every area of practice.  Read the complete Nazarene Articles of Faith on the denominations official website or download an easy to read version.
