For the next four weeks, we begin the season of Advent—a time of hopeful expectation as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the arrival of Jesus.

We are starting a new series called "The Promised King." For centuries, the world had been waiting for a king, a rescuer. But the king God sent was not what anyone expected.

Over these next four weeks, we will explore the arrival of this king through the eyes of the very first people to be part of his story:

  • We will journey with Mary, a young woman whose courageous 'yes' to God's plan gave us a blueprint for hope.

  • We will walk with Joseph, a man of integrity whose quiet trust in God, even when it was confusing, demonstrates true peace.

  • We will join the shepherds in the field—the outsiders who were the first to hear the announcement of "good news" that brings great joy to all people.

  • And finally, we will explore the profound, cosmic truth from the Gospel of John: that this promised king was God Himself, the 'Word made flesh,' who came to live among us as the ultimate expression of love.

This is the story of how our king arrived: not with a royal army, but as a helpless baby; not in a palace, but in a manger. Tonight we begin our journey.
